Week 31: Only Two Months Left to Go!

Wow, Week 31! The time is flying; I can’t believe I am 7 months along already! We are anxious to meet our little girl very soon. In the meantime Giovanni and I are busy preparing for her arrival and enjoying our first Christmas season as husband and wife. Our kitty Gatita is also enjoying the season and is loving that we are now using the fireplace in the cooler weather.

Giovanni and I recently took the time to tour the hospital where I will deliver, Clovis Community.

We were able to view the rooms and the entire maternity floor as well as ask many questions. It looks like it will be a great place to bring our baby into the world and the staff was helpful and friendly.

Giovanni and I have been considering the option of having a Birth Doula along with us on this pregnancy journey and by our side during labour and delivery. A Doula is a woman who is present as a labour assistant and who offers constant support during the birth. We are pleased to have met a lovely lady, Kathryn DiPalma, who will fill this role and provide support during this special time. Kathryn is a certified Doula and has already brought helpful information to us during this pregnancy. We are comforted knowing that she will be there through the birth, offering constant support and helping to protect the memory of this coming miracle. You can learn more about Kathryn and also read her blog at her website Blessed be the Belly.

In October I had the opportunity to spend a few days in Manhattan, New York, with my sisters Amanda and Christina. It was wonderful to be able to see them and to show them my baby bump!

It was a whirlwind trip, the time just flew by. We explored the city and made sure to take time to visit our share of Starbucks to rest our feet, and to take time to catch up with each other and chat.

We walked so much as we visited as many tourist attractions as possible in three days. I must say that I was pleasantly exhausted upon returning, and I think both Christina and Amanda were as well.

Check out more pictures of our NYC Girls Weekend here. It was a great time of growing our sister bond and as always, lots of laughter!
